Helo friends this is Romi here and i would like to share my experiences in hertbertpur:
"I attended a 3 week course on "communication and motivation" atHerbertpur, organised by sachin for TISA. Nishant joined us for abouta week. We did a lot of fun things, including:
1. Watching stutterring related videos and analysing them
2. Studying relevant case studies and discussing them
3. Practicing techniques - alone, then with each other, then withstrangers, then in a large group, in a bus etc. These techniquesincluded bouncing, prolongation, voluntary stuttering etc.
4. Mock (but serious !) interviews- specially organized by sachin.Video graphed and analyzed afterwards.
5. Jogging at 6.30 am! It can do wonders to your motivational level.Yoga and one hour meditation. DAILY.
6. Formal presentations to a group. Again video graphed and analyzed.
7. Talking on phone- about stammering! Again video graphed and analyzed
8. Lot of informal discussion and story telling sessions with sachinand the SHG in Herbertpur.
9. Writing / cybercafe assignments (research a topic on internet andthen present it).We are lucky that we stammer because i feel god is preparing you for something n if we face the challenge i am sure we may succeed.Stammering itself is an art and its like learning a new languagae i am sure all those who r attending the workshop have taken the right step and i am sure they will find a big change in them.
10. Lot of other fun stuff. I realize that I have learned something deeper than communication- Ialso realize that my real challenge begins now, as I return home. Iwill aim high now. I will try to keep in touch with SHG in Mumbai andTISA.. I will try to pass on what I have learned to other stammerersfreely and with joy. By the way- the workshop was totally free. I spent about Rs 150 perday for a room nearby and another 150 per day or so, on my food. Now, I know, there is no miracle for us- but hard work, which I didconsistently for three weeks. And therefore TISA gave me a certificatetoo, at the end! Feel free to get in touch if you need more info." M proud to b a stammerer as i am a stammering dude..

ReplyDeleteHi Romi,
ReplyDeleteThis is Harish from Goa SHG.
It's good that you have started blogging. And let me tell you, as Sachin Sir says, writing is a therapy in itself....
Your post on your experiences at herbertpur was great... It really gave an insight on how are things happen at Samagra... And the change in your attitude was quite evident in your post. May be next time you can write about what changes you feel in your attitude. Some sort of a before and after comparison... just a suggestion....
Most importantly, keep writing !!!
You are so nice!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep writing dear...
